COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Fairfield County man has pleaded guilty to child pornography and sextortion crimes in U.S. District Court on Friday.
According to U.S. Attorney Kenneth Parker’s office, 27-year-old Devin Bailey, of Millersport, admitted to distributing child pornography and using those images in interstate communication to extort an adult victim for images of herself.
In his plea agreement, Bailey reportedly used multiple personas online to solicit photos of the adult victim and then used the photos he received to threaten and extort her for more explicit photos of herself.
He also sent messages to the victim that depicted pornographic images of nude minor females, according to a release. Upon receiving the images, the adult victim recognized one of the minor females in the photos.
Parker’s office says the minor female was approximately 12 years old at the time that the photos and videos were created. The minor female believed she had sent the photos to a female in Florida but was actually another persona of Bailey.
The photos of the nude minor were kept by Bailey for more than five years and sent to the adult victim to coerce her into taking photos of herself.
The release further states that Bailey threatened to distribute the child pornography of the minor female to family members of the adult victim and across the internet if the adult victim did not comply with his demands.
Bailey reportedly used numerous email addresses, phone numbers and Snapchat accounts to harass the adult victim in May and June 2022.
His threats to share the images of her if she did not share new ones persisted for weeks, according to Parker’s office.
When the adult victim indicated she would involve law enforcement, Bailey responded, “Go ahead, they are untraceable numbers, and I can get hundreds more lol.”
According to a forensic review of his electronic devices, there were approximately 200 images and 20 videos of child sexual abuse material found.
