Records: Man arrested after trying to meet up with 11-year-old girl he 'met' on Facebook

Bikers Against Predators creates decoy underage Facebook accounts and then catches individuals who reach out to them to request underage pornographic content.

LANCASTER, Ohio — A Fairfield County man was arrested after he attempted to meet up with someone that he thought was an 11-year-old girl, according to records from the county's Court of Common Pleas.

Court documents state that on Sept. 16, Lancaster police officers were dispatched to an apartment on Sheridan Drive on a report of a sexual offense.

Arriving officers met with Robert Bloom who leads the nonprofit, Bikers Against Predators. The group creates decoy underage Facebook accounts and then catches individuals who reach out to them to request underage pornographic content.

Common pleas records say that Gary Lee Skinner Jr. reached out to the decoy page with intentions to meet up with an 11-year-old girl.

Video shows the group followed Skinner to a nearby gas station after he approached the decoy in the parking lot. They proceeded to follow Skinner back to his apartment and he refused to answer any of their questions. The interaction was livestreamed on Facebook.

According to court records, it was clear Skinner reached out to the decoy underage account first.

After officers arrived, Skinner denied being the first to interact with the decoy but admitted that he knew the "girl" he was talking to was 11 years old.

Members of Bikers Against Predators provided information that Skinner's intent when meeting up was to impregnate the girl, records say.

Skinner was arrested and taken to the county jail. He is charged with attempted importuning.

He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 26.
