Lancaster man killed in Fairfield County rollover crash involving SUV

Troopers identified the driver as 32-year-old Derrick Davis.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — A Lancaster man is dead after he crashed his SUV into a ditch in Fairfield County on Tuesday.

At 3:10 a.m., the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a call regarding a crash on state Route 36 near state Route 204.

Troopers learned that 32-year-old Derrick Davis was heading north on state Route 37  in a 2013 GMC Terrain when he went off the right side of the road. The SUV struck a ditch and an embankment and rolled over.

Davis was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators suspect that impairment is a factor in this crash.
