Juvenile seriously injured in east Columbus shooting

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting. No information on a possible suspect has been released.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A juvenile is recovering after being shot in east Columbus early Saturday morning.

Columbus Division of Police officers were called to the 500 block of Elda Street in the city’s Mount Vernon neighborhood on a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a juvenile who had been shot in the upper body. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but is expected to survive their injury, police say.

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting. No information on a possible suspect has been released.
