LANCASTER, Ohio – A crash in Lancaster on Memorial Drive left multiple people injured Sunday night.
Police say Nicholas J. Roark, 31, of Lancaster, was driving a Hyundai Elantra when it hit a pickup truck.
The crash happened around 10 p.m. Sunday at 111 South Memorial Drive.
According to police, an officer attempted to pull over Roark in the 500 block of Memorial Drive but he did not stop.
Police said the officer advised he was no longer attempting to stop the vehicle. The officer called for backup and provided the direction where Roark was headed.
Shortly after, the officer found the vehicle had crashed at Lincoln Avenue and South Memorial Drive.
Police said Roark was traveling at a high rate of speed when he collided with a silver Dodge pickup truck. There were five people inside the Dodge truck.
Two people were immediately flown to Columbus hospitals, according to the Lancaster Police Department. The other victims were taken to local hospitals.
Everyone involved in the crash is expected to survive. The crash is still under investigation.
