COLUMBUS, Ohio — An old Mount Carmel West building is near rubble as demolition crews continue to tear it down.

The hospital says that should be done by the fall and then work will begin transforming the campus into a health and wellness campus.

The plans call for a park, some affordable housing, access to outpatient care, a women's clinic and physicians offices.

Wagenbrenner Real Estate is developing the project and the hospital says some of the details have yet to be finalized.

The hospital ER was moved in May to Green Street and is the only stand-alone ER in the city.

Mount Carmel says the Nursing School will remain at its current location and the new development will allow it to expand.

The parking garages will also remain on the property.
