COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Delaware father was sentenced Tuesday to 17 and a half years in prison for charges related to the abuse of his seven children.
Jason Fuller, 44, pleaded guilty to seven counts of endangering children for the physical, emotional and psychological abuse he inflicted on his children, according to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office. His abuse reportedly spanned 18 years and each count relates to a different child.
Prosecutors said he used excessive and arbitrary punishment on the children over the course of nine years, including using belts on them, causing bruises, restraint, limiting contact with family members, locking them in a shed, feeding them dog food and forcing them to exercise to the point it caused one of the children to lose consciousness.
“Jason Fuller’s sentence is almost one year in prison for every year he terrorized his family. We are extremely thankful these victims will be protected from him while he serves his prison sentence,” Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Schiffel said.
His wife Kristelle Fuller was charged with permitting child abuse and intimidation. She was sentenced to two years of community control on an obstructing justice charge for her role.
Prosecutors said both parents instructed their children to lie about the abuse to the authorities to protect Jason.
