Alcohol suspected to be a factor in Delaware County crash where passenger inside sedan was killed

Authorities said a 2007 Honda Civic failed to yield at a stop sign when it was struck by a Ford F-350.

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio — One person is dead after a pickup truck struck a sedan in Delaware County on Monday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

At 6 p.m. authorities said a 2007 Honda Civic was heading northbound on Concord Road in Concord Township while a 2019 Ford F-350 was heading west on Moore Road.

OSHP said the Honda did not yield at a stop sign when it was struck by the Ford. Both vehicles then traveled off the northwest corner of the intersection.

The passenger inside the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity will be released once the next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the Honda was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the Ford F-350 were also taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with minor injuries.

OSHP said everyone involved in the crash wore seat belts. Investigators believe alcohol was a suspected factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
