SUNBURY, Ohio — A man is dead and two others are seriously injured after a crash in Delaware County Monday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 7:40 a.m. on U.S. Route 36 in Berkshire Township. OSHP says that a man was driving an Acura TL eastbound on Route 36 when he drove left of center and struck a Hyundai Kona that was traveling westbound head-on.

After the Hyundai was hit, it slid off the roadway and went into a ditch. The driver, 78-year-old Levi Hill, of Powell, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger inside the Hyundai was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Acura was also taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with serious injuries, according to OSHP.

Hill and his passenger were both wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. It’s unclear if the other driver was wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
