Crisis team launched for women business owners in central Ohio

The Ohio Women's Small Business Accelerator launched a crisis team to assist business owners.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WBNS) - Many central Ohio women business owners are struggling to find revenue as the coronavirus pandemic has halted most operations. A well-known local organization has gathered resources to help.

"We want to be a resource, be a helping hand. And any woman who has been in business for years has run into a struggle that may provide experience that will be helpful to others in this time," said President and CEO of Women's Small Business Accelerator Mary McCarthy.

The Ohio Women's Small Business Accelerator launched a crisis team to assist business owners. Mentors are hand-picked for anyone calling or emailing the crisis team. The Business Crisis Team provides help to women through supportive brainstorming, financial resources, and system reviews.

WSBA leaders said during these unprecedented times they recognize sometimes entrepreneurs need someone to talk with.

"Financial issues create stress and can feel overwhelming," said McCarthy. "We are here to share our fears, concerns for our employees, help find the resources that make a difference and we'll all work to look to the other side of the pandemic and start making moves now that will help down the road. Sometimes, simply having someone to talk to can make a profound impact on a business owner in crisis."
