COLUMBUS, Ohio — Crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex in northwest Columbus Wednesday afternoon.
According to officials, crews were called to the TGM Meadow View apartments in the 2400 block of Meadow Spring Circle. Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin says the blaze was classified as a 2-alarm fire but has since been contained.
Martin says no injuries were reported.
Officials believe the fire started because of work being done by a plumber inside one of the apartments. The fire started inside the wall and spread from the first floor to the top of the structure.
The American Red Cross says it's providing assistance to several residents at the complex who have been displaced due to the fire.
There's no word on the exact number of units at the complex that were damaged by the fire.
