Motorcyclist killed in north Columbus crash

Officers were called on a report of a crash on Cleveland and Chittenden avenues, located in South Linden, shortly before 5:30 p.m.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash on the city's north side Thursday evening, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called on a report of a crash on Cleveland and Chittenden avenues, located in South Linden, shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Police say a motorcycle was traveling north on Cleveland Avenue, passing Chittenden Avenue. At the same time, a Honda Fit was traveling south on Cleveland Avenue and turning left to go east on Chittenden Avenue.

The two vehicles collided at the intersection, ejecting the motorcyclist from their bike.

The motorcyclist was initially taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but was later pronounced dead at 6:29 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
