The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is handling the investigation into the shooting.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police released body-camera video on Tuesday showing officers involved in a shootout with a man outside of a northeast Columbus pub.

Officers were dispatched to Joe's Pub & Grill on East Dublin Granville Road just after midnight on Saturday for a report of a man firing shots into the restaurant.

Officers confronted the man, later identified as 39-year-old Mark Sharpe, who police said had a gun and fired shots at the officers.

Bodycam video shows several officers get to the parking lot of the restaurant. Gunshots can be heard after one officer steps out of their cruiser.

Seconds later, Sharpe appears to fire another shot.

Officers can be heard yelling at Sharpe to put the gun down and show his hands. About two minutes pass and more officers pull into the parking lot.
Sharpe appears to fire another shot at officers. A few moments later, officers opened fire on Sharpe, hitting him several times. Sharpe was put in handcuffs and rendered aid.

Sharpe was taken to a hospital in critical condition but is now expected to survive. He has been charged with three counts of felonious assault.

10TV also obtained video from one of the owners of the pub, Amanda Huffman. The video shows a man banging on the window of an SUV with a gun. Police have not confirmed the man in the video is Sharpe. Huffman said the man left his coat and keys inside the pub.

The officers involved in Saturday’s shooting were eight-year veteran Evan Romine and four-year veterans Tamer Khadre and Kenneth Sauer.
