Construction worker struck by SUV in Franklin County

The crash happened on U.S. 23, just before I-270, in Hamilton Township at 9:08 p.m., according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A construction worker was critically injured when they were hit by an SUV in Franklin County Sunday night.

The crash happened on U.S. 23, just before I-270, in Hamilton Township at 9:08 p.m., according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office

A 2024 Nissan Pathfinder was southbound on U.S. 23 when it struck a construction worker near the edge of the east side of the roadway.

The construction worker was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver stayed at the scene and was checked for injuries by medics.

The sheriff’s office says it’s unclear whether the construction worker was in the roadway when they were struck.
