Confusion and panic inside Scene 75 Entertainment Center during fight

Columbus police said the fight broke out inside the Scene 75 Entertainment Center in Tuttle Crossing Mall around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Columbus police said a fight broke out inside the new Scene 75 Entertainment Center in Tuttle Crossing Mall around 11 p.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived, Scene 75 security personnel and employees said there was a group of three males, two females and two kids having altercations with another group of males.

Police interviewed the possible victims who said they did not want any police assistance and wanted to leave the center.

Columbus police said there were reports of shots being fired, but once they were inside they said no one heard any shots.

We spoke with people who were inside that night who said they were confused as to what was going on.

Tammy Hatfield-Smith said she was there with her husband, 9-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son. She said there was a lot of yelling, screaming and security running.

She told us other visitors were telling everyone to hide in the bathroom for safety. That's when, she said, she heard someone scream "gun."

Instead of going into the bathroom to hide, while her children panicked, they hurried out through the emergency exit doors.

In order to ensure safety, the center evacuated everyone from the building. They made it very clear that safety for everyone is their number one priority.

Michelle Tischer was also there Saturday night with her niece and nephew. She said she thinks it was a good decision for the center to close for the night instead of removing the people who were fighting.

She said it was very packed that night with people of all ages, but there were many teenagers. She said she's not going to let this incident stop her from going back.

"I would go back again, I'm not afraid to go back you know it can happen any places people get in fights they get all shook up and I'm not afraid to go back, it's a very fun place," Tischer said.

Scene 75 posted a statement on their Facebook page.
