Columbus to repave 59 streets to begin 2023 resurfacing program

According to a release, a nearly $10 million investment will fund the first round of neighborhood streets to be repaired and repaved.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The City of Columbus announced its first road resurfacing project of the year.

According to a release, a nearly $10 million investment will fund the first round of neighborhood streets to be repaired and repaved. The project will pave 59 streets and install 197 ramps that will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

More streets are expected to be resurfaced in the 2023 program once another contract is bid, awarded and legislation is considered by city council.

“The city’s annual resurfacing program delivers roadway improvements throughout our neighborhoods to ensure safe travel conditions on Columbus streets,” said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “We are proud to fund this important capital investment and to support the Department of Public Service, which provides pavement management expertise to maintain 5,700 lane miles of city streets.”
