COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Columbus Division of Police is praising an Army recruiter who chased a woman suspected of attempting to rob a Taco Bell in west Columbus.

Columbus police officers responded Tuesday morning to a hold-up alarm at a Taco Bell located at 620 Georgesville Road.

Upon arrival, officers were told that a woman, later identified as 27-year-old Megan Osborne, attempted to rob the restaurant by implying she had a gun.

According to Columbus Police, Staff Sergeant Darrin Carroll was at the Taco Bell witnessed the robbery attempt. In his U.S. Army gear, police say Carroll chased the suspect on foot.

Officers searched the area near the Taco Bell and located Staff Sgt. Carroll who said he lost the suspect near apartments on Northview Court. Police say officers contacted the apartment rental office and provided them with a description of the Osborne. The rental office said the woman lived there and she was later arrested without incident.

Osborne was charged with attempted robbery.
