Columbus police investigating 4 shootings within 30-minute span

Columbus police responded to four shootings that all occurred within 30 minutes on Sunday night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police responded to four shootings that all occurred within 30 minutes on Sunday night.

According to police, the first shooting occurred at 8:23 p.m. in the 1400 block of Gimbles Drive in southwest Columbus.

One person was taken to Grant Medical Center and another person was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital. Both were reported in stable condition.

The second shooting occurred at 8:34 p.m. in the 3100 block of Bremen Street in north Columbus.

Police say it started as a pickup for an online purchase. One person was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Another shooting also occurred at 8:34 p.m., police say. It happened in the 3900 block of Cleveland Avenue in north Columbus.

A 19-year-old man was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in stable condition after being shot in the leg following a dispute with someone outside a gas station.

The fourth shooting occurred at 8:50 p.m. in the 3600 block of Eakin Road near Wedgewood Drive in west Columbus.

One person was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

Police are also investigating a shooting on East Morrill Avenue.

A man walked into Grant Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his leg before 2:30 p.m. Sunday. He told police he was walking along the road when a man walked up to him and they argued, which led to the shooting.

No suspect information in any of the shootings has been provided at this time.
