COLUMBUS -- Columbus police said three people are dead and one is in critical condition after a car crashed into a building in north Columbus.

Police said it happened Sunday around 3:00 a.m. at a National Tire and Battery in the 4800 block of Sinclair Road.

Police said 18-year-old Otoniel Alcauter, 19-year-old Luis Guzman, and another male who has not yet been identified were killed in the crash.

They were traveling south on I-71 at an apparent high rate of speed when they lost control on a curve on a ramp, according to police.

Police said the car hit a ditch, went into the air, and hit the building.

The exit ramp from I-71 south to Sinclair Road and the intersection of Sinclair Road and Morse Road were closed for several hours and have since reopened.

The district manager of the building told 10TV nobody was in the building at the time of the crash.
