COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Columbus police officer who was pulled from his regular duty because of comments he made that were caught on camera, is now back on duty.

Officer Joseph Bogard was issued a written reprimand for conduct unbecoming last week.

Bogard was heard on body camera video making the following statement after the violent arrest of a suspect: "I'm going to for real arm-bar you, and then when that still doesn't work, I'm going to choke the life out of you. And then while you're drooling on yourself I'll handcuff you."

Bogard's statement was made on September 1, after his fellow officers engaged in a several-minutes-long struggle with suspect Timothy Davis.

Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs called Bogard's statement "unprofessional" and "inappropriate."
