COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus Division of Police officer was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to recording an upskirt video of an underage girl in Illinois last year.
Adam Nguyen, 27, was arrested on May 21, 2023, for unauthorized video recording. Documents from the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois say the incident took place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
As part of his sentence, Nguyen will be on probation for 24 months and must perform 100 hours of community service and pay $799 in fines. He also was ordered to avoid contact with the victim and will have to complete evaluation and treatment recommendations for sex offenders, according to court records.
Nguyen had worked with the division for two years when the incident happened and was placed on administrative duty due to the criminal investigation.
According to Columbus police, Nguyen remains on “relieved of duty” status and now that the criminal case has concluded, an administrative investigation will take place.
