Columbus Metropolitan Library branches reopen with limited services on Monday

Curbside pickup will also continue to be available at all 23 locations.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Metropolitan Library announced Friday that most of its 23 branches will reopen starting Monday, February 8 with limited services.

The New Albany branch is open for drive-up pickup only during its renovation which is expected to be completed in March. 

The Marion-Franklin branch, which has been closed, will reopen with limited weekday hours. 

Details about the limited services, curbside pick-up, and walk-up services are below:

CUSTOMERS CAN ENTER THE BUILDING TO: 

  • Browse the shelves to pick out items. 
  • Pick up items on hold.
  • Get Grab & Go Books.
  • Return items.
  • Use a computer (60-minute limit).
  • Reserve a table.
  • Print, copy, scan, and fax.
  • Get in-person Job Help and Homework Help at limited locations.

HOW TO USE CURBSIDE PICKUP:

1. Choose your pickup location when you reserve your item online.

2. Once you’ve been notified that your item is ready to pick up:

  • Visit during open hours.
  • Look for the Curbside Pickup signs posted in the parking lot.
  • Have your library card number ready.
  • Call the phone number on the sign.
  • Deaf or hard of hearing, text using the number provided.
  • Staff answering the phone will check out your items and bring them to your vehicle.
  • Grab & Go books are available plus staff will also help you pick out a book – just ask when you call.

Due to the end of Daylight Savings Time:

  • Delivery to vehicles for Curbside Pickup will end at 5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
  • Arriving after 5:30 p.m.? Call the Curbside Pickup number and staff will check out your items and leave them on a table or cart at the building entrance for walk-up, contact-free pickup. Face coverings are required for walk-up pickup.

  • Call the phone number on the sign on the door.
