A Columbus man has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for murdering two potential witnesses in a drug trafficking operation.
Twenty-eight-year-old Antwan L. Hutchinson was sentenced on Tuesday.
Hutchinson and 27-year-old Michael J. Favors were indicted in April 2017 and charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and murder.
According to court records, Hutchinson led a drug trafficking organization and distributed cocaine, heroin, oxycodone and marijuana.
Authorities say both men used trap houses to store and sell the drugs. This included using threat of force and using the homes of drug-addicted individuals.
Hutchinson also intimidated, assaulted, threatened and tortured individuals with serious physical harm who were perceived as owing money or drugs to the members of the conspiracy.
As part of his plea in April 2019, Hutchinson admitted he intentionally killed Sidney Campbell and Marie Stamp in February 2017 because they were perceived as potential witnesses against the defendants.
Hutchinson also beat and tortured Cody Campbell in February 2017.
