A man is in custody for aggravated robbery following a carjacking in Westerville Wednesday.
Westerville police say 44-year-old David Smith of Columbus entered a vehicle that was left running when the owner went to pick up a food owner inside a sandwich shop on the northwest side of the city.
According to police, Smith attempted to drive away, dragging the owner who was struggling to take back control of the vehicle. Smith then abandoned the vehicle and ran into a wooded area.
Westerville police arrested Smith after conducting a search.
