Columbus gang member sentenced to 87 years to life in prison for murder

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Columbus gang member was sentenced to 87 years to life in prison after being convicted of murder.

Darnell Vinson, along with Devon Bias, were indicted on murder charges in December 2017.

One indictment alleged that Vinson and Bias fired dozens of shots at an SUV in the 200 block of Wayne Avenue that killed a 16-year-old and a stray bullet killed 33-year-old Severen Clayborn while he was inside his home.

Another indictment said Vinson murdered 26-year-old Kieara Hobbs at the Exhale Hookah lounge on Lockbourne Road.

Vinson was convicted on four murder charges, three attempted murder charges, three felonious assault charges, one count of discharging a firearm and one count of having a weapon under disability.

Bias's case is still pending in Franklin County Common Pleas Court. He is facing the same charges as Vinson. He is due in court in January.
