COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two floodwalls were activated in south Columbus on Tuesday due to hours of heavy rain that fell Monday evening into Tuesday morning. On Wednesday afternoon, the walls were taken down after the threat of severe weather passed.
One wall was installed at Greenlawn Avenue near Interstate 71 and the other was installed at Harmon Avenue near Frank Road. Both walls were the Franklinton neighborhood.
All roads that were closed due to the floodwalls being put up are now back open.
The wall helped to prevent flooding in the Franklinton neighborhood due to high waters from the Scioto River.
The last time the floodwall was activated was back in May 2020.
