Authorities are searching for a convicted felon who is now wanted in several different theft cases involving high-end men’s cologne.

The Columbus City Attorney’s Office says that John Ferris Clark, 53, is alleged to have stolen more than $1,800 worth of cologne including Armani Black Code, Acqua Di Gio, and Invictius from stores in Whitehall and Reynoldsburg in several different incidents over a two-day stretch last year.

Clark is wanted on five different warrants that have been filed in Franklin County. He has been convicted on 17 prior theft charges, as well as charges of breaking and entering, felony receiving stolen property, felony drug possession, felony violation of probation, illegal possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing.

City Attorney Bill Hedrick says Clark is a serial thief who is focused on one particular type of item to steal and resell. Hedrick identifies crimes of this type are “niche-market shoplifting.”

Anyone with information about John Ferris Clark is asked to contact the Columbus City Attorney’s Office at 614.645.8874 or brhedrick@columbus.gov.
