Columbus city attorney files largest public nuisance lawsuit in city's history

The lawsuit is filed against AMG Realty Group and its managing partner and founder Adam Glickman.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein says his office filed the largest public nuisance lawsuit in the city's history.

The lawsuit is filed against AMG Realty Group and its managing partner and founder Adam Glickman.

Klein says AMG owns three large multi-building apartment complexes and has had an “extensive history of continued violations” of city housing, nuisance abatement, and health, sanitation and safety codes.

The complaint affects all 802 units located in the Mayfair Apartments, Hartford on the Lake, and Fitzroy Apartments, which are all owned by AMG.

Klein says the city of Columbus first issued a notice in 2017 saying all of Glickman's properties would be inspected after “a record of chronic [code] violations.”

Klein says they did not comply with orders then, and did not comply with orders in January of 2018 or in May of 2018, which led to the lawsuit.

Klein says AMG so far has accrued $75,000 in fines.
