The Columbus Blue Jackets unveiled new home and away jerseys Tuesday as the National Hockey League transitions from Reebok to Adidas as their uniform supplier.
The new jerseys feature streamlined trim, a revised neckline, and new fonts for the nameplates and numbers.
The home jersey keeps its familiar Union Blue color scheme with red and white trim, and the road jersey remains mostly white with Union Blue shoulders and outer sleeves.
Both jerseys feature the Jackets’ Star and Ohio flag logo and the familiar cannon insignia patch.
Gone for this season are the vintage-styled alternate uniforms, which were a lighter blue with the large cannon insignia on the chest. As a part of the transition to Adidas, none of the league’s 30 teams will have alternate jerseys this season.
The team says that the new uniforms are nearly 20 percent lighter than the old ones and are made with breathable fabrics to keep players cooler.
