Columbus Blue Jackets announce new bag policy for Nationwide Arena

The team says smaller bags will allow for a safer environment, and quicker security screening at arena entrances.

The Columbus Blue Jackets say bag policies are changing for the end of the season, as well as Stanley Cup playoff games, and all special events inside Nationwide Arena.

Permitted bags must not measure any larger than 5"x8"x1" beginning with the Jackets game Sunday, April 2nd against the Washington Capitals at 6 p.m.

The dimensions are outlined in the picture below.

The team says there will be exceptions for guests with medical and childcare needs.

They will allow larger bags in for those purposes, but the bags will be subject to a full security search.

Blue Jackets and Nationwide Arena officials are implementing the program now to get fans ready for next season.
