COLUMBUS, Ohio — Some big changes could soon be coming to downtown Columbus thanks to a new proposal for an apartment complex.
According to plan submissions, the proposed building, named The Estrella, will have 23 floors, 290 units and will sit on Rich and South 4th streets.
Most of the units will be one-bedroom apartments but there will also be studios, two-bedrooms and penthouses.
The building will have commercial storefronts and nearly 330 parking spaces.
But with downtown Columbus already full of businesses, this building means that others will need to relocate.
According to the plans, at least four properties on 4th Street will come down, including Dirty Franks and 16-Bit Bar+Arcade.
In a statement, Dirty Franks said they are excited about the continued growth of downtown and plan to remain at their current location for the remainder of their lease which ends in 2027.
The Downtown Commission meets next week to look over the plans for the apartment building.
