COLUMBUS, Ohio β The Blue Shuttle Lot at John Glenn Columbus International Airport will close next week, according to the Columbus Regional Airport Authority.
Starting Dec. 9, the parking lot will no longer be accessible for new parkers. This is to prepare for the upcoming terminal construction project at the airport.
In the meantime, a new 2,550-car expansion will open in the Red Lot at the same time to accommodate additional cars.
Columbus Regional Airport Authority President & CEO Joseph Nardone said the lot closing is a major step forward toward the new terminal.
βThis project represents a transformative investment in the future of CMH, and our team is energized by the momentum. We remain committed to providing our customers with a positive experience throughout this transition,β Nardone said.
The final phase of parking lot changes will start in early 2025 with the opening of a temporary cellphone lot. The new $2 billion terminal at John Glenn International Airport is expected to open in 2029.
Additionally, the project will include a 5,000-space parking garage connected by an elevated pedestrian bridge.
