Police officer saves woman who was choking at Circleville Pumpkin Show

Officer Tatyana Myers was assisting the Circleville Police Department at the pumpkin show when she saw a woman choking.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A Chillicothe police officer saved a woman's life who was choking at the Circleville Pumpkin Show last week.

According to the Chillicothe Police Department, Officer Tatyana Myers was assisting the Circleville Police Department at the pumpkin show.

On Oct. 19, Myers saw a woman choking and rushed over to perform the Heimlich Maneuver. After two thrusts, woman was able to breathe again.

A Pickaway County Sheriff Captain witnessed the incident and said Myers' actions were beyond heroic.

"All of us at the Chillicothe Police Department are proud of Officer Tatyana Myers whose swift and decisive actions undoubtedly saved the woman's life per reports and witnesses," the department wrote in a release.

Myers has been nominated for several lifesaving awards.
