COLUMBUS, Ohio — Several schools in central Ohio are on a two-hour delay as Tuesday's freezing rain could make the morning commute troublesome.
Some of the schools that announced delays are:
- Big Walnut Local Schools
- Buckeye Valley Local Schools
- Coshocton City Schools
- Delaware City Schools
- Licking Heights Local Schools
- Licking Valley Local Schools
- Olentangy Local Schools
- New Albany Plain Local Schools
- Newark City Schools
Most of the area is waking up just above the freezing mark, which is good as the warmth is already cutting down on the projected ice totals. However, there is still potential for icy roads through the morning commute.
Temperatures will continue to fall over the next few hours and dip back down to the freezing mark by 7 a.m. More areas could briefly transition to more sleet and freezing drizzle before 9 a.m.
