GROVE CITY, Ohio - The band director at Central Crossing High School is charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor according to records filed in Franklin County Municipal Court.
Keith Hallas admitted to a police detective he received nude images of a student who was 17 years old, according to the criminal complaint filed in court.
In an audio message to parents, Central Crossing principal Dr. Jill Burke said a teacher was taken into custody by the Grove City Police Department and is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.
"Thank you for your understanding and support as we work through our disciplinary and legal processes," Burke said in the message.
Hallas, 40, is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
According to the band's website, Hallas has had several experiences working with nationally recognized organizations including Boston College and the Boston Crusaders.
He also performed with the Broadway show "Blast!" according to the website.
Hallas is in custody at the Franklin County jail.
