COLUMBUS, Ohio — One of downtown Columbus' oldest buildings is about to get quite the makeover.
The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) is set to remodel Central Presbyterian Church into a brand new music hall that will be used to show concerts and entertainment, hold community events and feature two bars and a restaurant.
The venue has a standing room capacity of 600 people.
The former church, located at 132 South 3rd St., has been vacant since CAPA bought the space 13 years ago.
"This venue is going to allow us to experiment a lot here in Columbus so I don't even know exactly what it looks like yet, but certainly it's going to give us options that we've never had before," said CAPA President and CEO Chad Whittington.
At this point, the venue does not have a name but the owners are looking for a sponsorship to name it.
Renovations are expected to start this summer with plans to open in 2026.
