CANAL WINCHESTER, Ohio -- The City of Canal Winchester says the city's public pool will not open this summer amid concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
Additionally, the city is also canceling its summer kickoff event, "Music in the Park," which was scheduled to take place on June 19.
Decisions about other city events scheduled for July and August remain under consideration.
“It’s hard to think of summer starting without families at the pool or a concert at Stradley Park, but the health and safety of our community is our top priority," Canal Winchester Mayor Mike Ebert said. "The pool will be closed this year and we’ll have to postpone some events, and hopefully, we’ll be able to return to normal operations in 2021.”
