FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — A Columbus man is facing multiple charges in connection to a deadly shooting at a strip club near northeast Columbus earlier this month.
Deputies arrested 29-year-old Jermaine Westbrook on Thursday and charged him with four counts of felonious assault. The charges stem from the shooting on New Year’s Day at Bucks Platinum Club, located at 2830 Johnstown Road near Stelzer Road, where 28-year-old Charles Westbrook was killed.
Franklin County Municipal Court records state that Jermaine Westbrook was involved in a physical altercation with a group of people at the strip club. During the fight, he pulled out a handgun and fired shots into a crowd of patrons.
Four other people were injured in the shooting. One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition while the others were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
As of Friday, the sheriff’s office did not provide updates on the shooting victim who was critically injured.
Detectives state that Westbrook was identified after reviewing cellphone and surveillance videos.
Westbrook is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
