Proposed Grove City development would bring 150 apartment units, restaurants and stores

The multi-million dollar project, called "Broadway Live," would be located on the corner of Broadway and Columbus Street.

GROVE CITY, Ohio — A new development is in the works in Grove City that would bring new restaurants, bars, stores and apartments to the area.

The multi-million dollar project, called "Broadway Live," would be located on the corner of Broadway and Columbus Street. The plan is still in its preliminary stages.

The initial plans call for a 16,000-square-foot food hall with five vendors, an indoor-outdoor bar, an interior stage and an upstairs golf-themed bar.

Around the food hall, there will be more restaurants and stores, 215 parking spaces, and a luxury apartment building with 150 units.

Michael Brown, a longtime Grove City resident says this is great for the city.

“There have been several town center plans in the past, but they didn’t encompass all the facets that bring people here. Change is inevitable and it’s better to embrace it and have a comprehensive plan than to hit or miss or start or stop and that’s what’s happened in the past,” Brown said.

Not everyone is thrilled about the possible changes to come to the Grove City they have come to know and love. However, some businesses are excited about the future possibilities.

“In the town center we need to get more people coming into the town center to all the local businesses,” said Tammy’s Pizza owner, Tyler Walker.

The city says it's still finalizing how much this would cost. If the project does move forward, construction won't begin until 2025 or 2026.
