Police: Body pulled from retention pond at apartment complex near Grove City

Columbus police officers at the scene told 10TV that neighbors found a man's body in the pond sometime Monday morning.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A body was pulled from a retention pond at an apartment complex near Grove City on Monday.

Crews with the Columbus Division of Fire were called to the 2000 block of Grey Oaks at the Collier Park Apartments sometime before 8:30 a.m. Columbus police officers at the scene told 10TV that neighbors found the body in the pond sometime Monday morning.

Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Jeffrey Geitter said a man's body was pulled from the water before medics arrived. The man was pronounced dead at 8:28 a.m.

Police officers at the scene said the man's death is being investigated as accidental, but additional information was not immediately available.
