MARYSVILLE, Ohio — The carryout building of a popular Marysville pizza shop caught fire overnight, officials said.
The fire happened at the takeout building next to Benny's Pizza at 958 Columbus Ave. Firefighters received a call about the flames just after 2:30 a.m.
Fire officials said flames were in the kitchen and were quickly extinguished. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
Several fire departments, including Washington Township, responded to the call. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
The owners of Benny's Pizza said both the main and carryout buildings are closed on Friday. A lot of the equipment was lost to the fire and the carryout building and roof were damaged.
The owners hope to offer dine-in services by Saturday.
"We are profoundly grateful for the outpouring of support from Marysville, Union County, and the Central Ohio community.
