ATHENS, Ohio -- The former Ohio University football player who was indicted on rape and sexual battery charges turned himself in to authorities Wednesday.
According to the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, 23-year-old Cameron M. Wilson is accused of sexually assaulting an OU student on or around Jan. 16.
Wilson was a student at the time of the alleged rape, but OU said that he is not currently enrolled at the school.
While under investigation, Wilson was found to be in possession of drugs.
Along with one count of rape and sexual battery, Wilson is also charged with tampering with evidence, possession of drugs, possession of heroin and escape.
A judge set Wilson's bond at $200,000. His trial is scheduled for Jan. 24, 2017.
