According to Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Jeffrey Geitter, it was a two-alarm fire and was under control just before 12:20 p.m.

COLUMBUS, Ohio β€” Residents of an east Columbus apartment complex were displaced after a fire broke out Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 3100 block of East Livingston Avenue around 11:40 a.m. for a report of a fire. According to Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Jeffrey Geitter, it was a two-alarm fire and was under control just before 12:20 p.m.

One person was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in what is described as stable condition. Geitter said the injuries were not β€œfire-related specifically.”

A resident standing outside the complex told 10TV that people were evacuated quickly.

Geitter said there is serious damage to one unit and to the attic space. All 63 residents in the 31-unit building will be assisted by the American Red Cross due to utilities needing to be shut off.
