NEWARK, Ohio - An Amber Alert has been canceled by the Newark Police Department after they say a 1-year-old girl was found safe in eastern Licking County.
Police said Keiria Marie Trent was being watched by her sister when their father, 27-year-old Matthew R. Trent came to the house on North 11th St. and took Keiria around 6:15 p.m. Sunday.
Newark Police Sgt. Clint Eskins told 10TV Keiria was soon found safe and returned to her home.
Sgt. Eskins said Matthew Trent is in custody and will face charges at an arraignment on Monday.
