ETNA, Ohio — An Amazon fulfillment center in Etna is operating normally after a suspicious package was found outside the facility on Monday.
According to the Licking County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the facility located at 11999 National Road SW for a reported bomb threat. The package was found on the grounds outside of the facility, according to Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp. A spokesperson with Amazon said the package was found about 100 yards away from the center's parking lot.
The center was put on lockdown as authorities investigate, according to the sheriff's office. The facility was never evacuated, according to the spokesperson.
Around 9 p.m., the sheriff's office said the package was found to be non-threatening and the fulfillment center resumed normal operations. The Columbus Division of Fire Bomb Squad was called in to assist.
A spokesperson from Amazon said they are thankful for the quick work from the first responders who verified there was no threat to the employees or the site.
