Columbus Blue Jackets game pushed back to 8:30 p.m., power restored in Arena District

Power was restored just before 5:30 p.m.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Blue Jackets game scheduled for Tuesday night has been delayed until 8:30 p.m. due to a power outage in the Arena District.

According to the Columbus Division of Fire, the power outage was due to an underground cable that feeds power that failed. The outage impacted several buildings in the area, including Nationwide Arena and the Nationwide Insurance building. Power was out for most of the afternoon, but was restored just before 5:30 p.m.

The Blue Jackets were set to play the Anaheim Ducks at 6:30 p.m. Doors are now scheduled to open at 7:45 p.m.

AEP Ohio said the outage affected the area roughly bordered by Neil Avenue to the west, Vine Street to the north, Third Street to the east and Long Street to the south.
