CIRCLEVILLE -- High Winds knocked out power to American Electric Power customers across central Ohio Saturday evening.
The outage knocked out power for about 23,000 customers.
According to a spokesperson with AEP, the power outage for central Ohio customers has dropped to under 2,000. Power for southwest and northwest Columbus is expected to be restored by 4pm and southeast is expected by 6pm.

A South Central Power Company official said the wind was a factor in taking out several main lines Saturday night and Circleville police said trees are down in the area.
They said there is no estimated time of fix at the moment, but the company is in the area working to restore the power.
