COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus man was arrested and charged Friday after being accused of sending explicit photos to a juvenile and attempting to solicit sexual acts from her.

The Columbus Division of Police said 32-year-old Adrian Gonzalez Hernandez was charged with importuning and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles following an investigation by the Columbus Police Exploited Children Unit and the Franklin County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Franklin County Municipal Court records state that on Oct. 14, Columbus police officers responded to the home of a juvenile under the age of 13 after family members discovered she had been receiving text messages, social media posts, phone calls, photos and videos of nudity and explicit sex acts from Hernandez.

Hernandez was known by the family, who reported that he had "babysat" for the victim and her siblings in the past, according to court documents.

Records say that data recovered from the juvenile's phone revealed messages and posts sent to her from Hernandez that included "full frontal" nude photos of himself. Hernandez also reportedly requested that the juvenile send him photos of herself.

The court documents say that the messages also included Hernandez discussing oral sex with the victim and a video he sent of a female performing the act on a male. He then requested oral sex from the victim.

There were numerous references to being in "love," having sex and plans to meet up with the juvenile when she could get away by herself, court records say.

The documents add that Hernandez allegedly warned the victim to delete the messages and to keep their relationship a secret, stating that he would go to jail if someone found out.

The Columbus Police Exploited Children Unit reminds parents to monitor their children's online and social media activity and speak regularly with their children about online safety.  Parents and children can find information and educational assistance at NCMEC.org.

Hernandez is being held on a $500,000 bond.
