Actors' Theatre of Columbus returns to Schiller Park with family comedy

"'Chicken & Biscuits' is about a family - two sisters particularly who don't really like each other very well," explained the play's director.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Actors' Theatre of Columbus has returned to Schiller Park with the joyful new family comedy, "Chicken & Biscuits."

"'Chicken & Biscuits' is about a family - two sisters particularly who don't really like each other very well," explained Alan Tyson, the play's director. "Their father dies so they have to come back home to the funeral and all chaos breaks loose. It's just a fun, beautiful, joyous story about a family we all have and the things that they have to do in order to come together and try to make it in this world."

Tyson credited his funny, talented, and charismatic cast as well as the hardworking crew with making the production such a joy to be a part of.

"I love Black Joy and that's one of the reasons that drew me to this," said Tyson. "I really want to experience Black Joy in the world and I want to bring people to see a show where Black people are having fun, they're making jokes and they're just really full of love."

"Chicken and Biscuits" runs through July 14 at Schiller Park in German Village. All Actors' Theatre of Columbus performances are free and open to the public. For more information, visit https://theactorstheatre.org/.
