Police: 1 injured in accidental shooting at Obetz shooting range

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was injured in an accidental shooting at a gun range in Obetz Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Officers were called to the Vance Outdoors shooting range at 4250 Alum Creek Dr. around 12:45 p.m. on a report of an accidental shooting.

Obetz Police Department Chief Michael Confer told 10TV that a girl was in a training class shooting with her non-dominant hand and accidentally shot herself in her dominant hand.

She was taken to Grant Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be OK, according to police.

No additional information was provided.
